Recently there have been various reports related to smart phone applications consisting of harmful viruses.

Recently there have been various reports related to smart phone applications consisting of harmful viruses. Earlier it used to be only the laptops and computers which were vulnerable to such issues, but now we have smart phones and Tablet PCs to be worried about as well. Hence, it is important to exercise great caution while downloading applications from Internet. In case you are holding back your mobile phones from mobile phone recycling as they consist of viruses, you might want to try different antivirus applications developed by some of the top most companies in the business. Although hackers have an upper hand with all such malware, you can definitely follow some easy steps to maintain the good health of your new phone and turn in only old and obsolete phones for mobile phone recycling.

You must also exercise great caution while selecting the company to purchase second-hand mobiles from. A non-trustworthy company might preinstall harmful malware before selling a second-hand model. One in every 10 second-hand mobile phones contains old information. Many of them are in fact deliberately infected with harmful viruses to steal your critical information. However, this doesn’t imply that opting for mobile phone recycling is a bad idea. Instead, mobile phone recycling is an excellent idea to fully recycled your old phones so that everything contained in them, including data, is gotten rid of. A precautionary measure which you can take is downloading mobile phone applications only from trustworthy websites which have direct collaboration with mobile phone companies.

Apple’s iPhone 4S’s first-quarter sales figures have helped the company improve dramatically over its performance for the same period last year. The latest figures show that the Apple iPhone sales were a total worth of £7.2 billion in the first quarter of this year. The company managed to pull off a great performance of 35 million mobile phone sales between the time-period of January to March. Their excellent performance was also contributed by the great reception received for the new iPad in the market. All these statistics prove that it will be yet another strong year for Apple and another strong year for the mobile phone recycling as well.
The companies involved in mobile phone recycling announced that the older versions of iPhones are hot selling items in the mobile phone recycling marketplace. Not only are the first and second versions of iPhone getting increasingly turned in for recycling, many iPhone 4 models are also being brought in for mobile phone recycling. This is excellent news for people who cannot afford the latest iPhones. Such people can benefit from the working second-hand iPhone 4 models which have passed through the quality assurance tests at the mobile phone recycling company. Recycling such iPhones not only gives a good revenue generation medium to the mobile phone recycling companies, it also gives many consumers the chance to use a phone that they are always wanted to have.

If you are among those who possess more than one cell phone at home, you are probably the kind of person who doesn’t want to get rid of the old handsets as they have pictures or music on them, which you do not want to lose. This could be one of the reasons why two or three old mobile phones are gathering dust in your cupboard. Does this sound familiar? Do not worry; we have a quick solution to this problem and you can even make money from it!

The first step you need to take is to approach any local cell phone store and request them to transfer the entire data from the old phone to the new one. Such a thing will work if you possess an older model, however you could also use memory cards for your handset, USB cords and many other options available to download pictures directly to the laptop or computer. Once all the information is downloaded to the computer, you can dump all data by resetting the old mobile phone. Do ensure that none of the data remains stored on the old phone.

You are all set to recycle your old mobile phones now and may earn some cash too. Who wouldn’t mind getting a small reward from the existing dust bunny collectors? The amount received after recycling old phones will however vary, depending upon the phone’s model and its working condition. One can earn as high as £200!

A large number of consumers have started appreciating the benefits of mobile phone recycling and the marketplace is right now buzzing with competitive spirit between different recyclers. What comes as excellent news for the mobile phone recycling market is that a large number of people are now actively looking for places that can offer them easy cash for turning in their old mobile phones.

Perhaps, it is just the need for some extra cash regardless of its source. On the other hand, it could also be because of increasing awareness about the environmental as well as monetary benefits of mobile phone recycling. After all, all such old mobile phones consist of precious materials such as nickel, palladium and gold which can be utilised for production of new devices rather than allowing the lithium contained in batteries to contaminate our water supplies. Whatever may be the actual reason of increasing popularity of mobile phone recycling, it is a great thing for all of us.

To tell you the truth, recycling is not just limited to mobile phones alone. Any type of mobile device like an old iPad can also be recycled. Many recycling companies prefer having such old devices as they can be easily resold in the market to someone who is willing to buy a second-hand product. Furthermore, recycling also helps in reclaiming various important elements contained in iPhones and iPads which can be used again for production of fresh electronic products.

As millions of cell phones get trashed away in waste bins and landfills, they are devoid of the opportunity to get recycled. By not engaging in mobile phone recycling, many precious and rare metals get lost in the process.

The government is seriously considering the amount of wastage of these rare metals. Earth metals such as cobalt and gold are used in various mobile devices including cell phones, laptops, batteries, headphones and televisions too. Despite knowing this fact, we continue to discard these electronics rather than making use of schemes like the mobile phone recycling.

It is estimated that from 2012 to 2020, around 12 million tonnes of e-waste will end up in landfills. Roughly a quarter of that figure is expected to be IT equipment containing 17 tonnes of iridium and 63 tonnes of palladium. The lost palladium, if marked in terms of its cost, will be worth nearly a billion pounds and iridium, around 380 million pounds at the current market price level. It is extremely likely that both these elements will be worth much more in the times to come unless their supply increases.

The statements above in no way indicate that cell phone recycling is only about the lost money. It is more about conserving our planet and the limited resources it has. If we do not save and protect the rare elements our future generations will see none of it. Can you imagine what life will be without oil and even the new iPad if all metals are gone. Let us make a beginning and recycle instead of wasting.

Apparently, a lot of people are finally beginning to understand the advantages of mobile phone recycling.

Apparently, a lot of people are finally beginning to understand the advantages of mobile phone recycling. The past few months have witnessed more and more people opting for mobile phone recycling voluntarily. Some school going children have also been collecting mobile phones for the purpose of recycling. These kids are collecting all such unwanted old mobile phones and getting them recycled via Internet. Many other people are voluntarily spreading the word about mobile phone recycling by informing others about its monetary benefits.

Mobile phone recycling is the best way to get rid of an old phone every time you or any of your family member purchases a new mobile phone. Since there are many reliable mobile phone recycling websites on the Internet, people no longer have an excuse for not turning in their old mobile phones, especially keeping in mind the amount of damage these old phones can do to our environment.

All mobile phones consist of some rare elements which are desperately required in order to continue the production of electronics. Moreover, there are certain properties of such electronic items like batteries and touch screens which can be very harmful for our fresh water system and earth. If any of these elements are not recycled appropriately, they can prove to be disastrous for earth.

It is very easy to opt for mobile phone recycling nowadays. All you need is the model number of your old mobile phone for checking its actual worth online. If turned in for recycling, the recycling company will pay you the true monetary worth of your phone.

A suggestion for mobile phones to have a ‘deposit’ same as bottles has been doing the rounds of late. A few experts in Germany believe that if mobile phones have a certain ‘bottle deposit’, people may be more encouraged to send them for mobile phone recycling at the time of purchasing a new model.

Although the suggestion is highly relevant for increasing the number of old mobile phones getting turned in for recycling, it also has certain advantages with regard to the way mobile phone recycling works as of now. The proposal currently under consideration in Germany will make every phone worth €10 on a deposit basis. On the other hand, in case of any of your old mobile phones such as your old model of iPhone (in working condition), you could still obtain a handsome amount of around £50 when you turn it in for mobile phone recycling.

The fact remains that opting for mobile phone recycling can be an excellent alternative, especially if you turn in an old mobile phone (in working condition), still having a certain market value. Mobile phones having good resale value will any day fetch you more value in comparison to a nonworking obsolete model turned in for mobile phone recycling.

Hence, it becomes all the more important to benefit from mobile phone recycling while your phone is still in working condition. You can utilise the amount on from it towards the purchase of a new phone. In our opinion, this particular concept is much better in comparison to a ‘bottle like deposit’ model.

Children are the future. They must be protected and cared for. However, unfortunately, children are not treated the same way throughout the world. What is worse is that they end up missing, mistreated and abused in various countries. Sprint, a US based company has initiated a mobile phone recycling programme which will offer assistance to the NCMEC (National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children). The company has already pulled in significant amount of funds for the organization.

Though there is no such programme in the UK as of now, this doesn’t mean that we cannot do our bit for the cause. Even you can help children by opting for mobile phone recycling. The money you obtain from recycling can be donated to any charity that is working towards a similar cause. If you cannot find an appropriate charity, you can directly donate the amount to a needy child.

Mobile phone recycling can earn you some handy cash. A popular model can even fetch you a much larger amount. Anyways, the amount you earn from mobile phone recycling is not as important as the effort you make for the cause. As the US programme provides an excellent medium to people to do their bit for children, it has earned great popularity there and has even caught the attention of millions of people in other parts of the world. Kids, though can be self-sufficient, there are many things they can’t do on their own. Mobile phone recycling can help us do our bit for the environment as well as for such unfortunate children. Hopefully, someone in UK will initiate a similar programme soon.

Receiving cash against your old cell phone has indeed become very popular in the previous four years since it can really fetch a good sum.

Mobile phone recycling is definitely not a novel concept but getting cash in turn is surely a popular and recent development. This was around four years back that the concept of turning in old phones for cash gained popularity online. And the last 2 years have seen more number of guides getting released online on how this works. Who would not mind getting a few pounds extra from something that once cost hundreds?

Companies like cashformobiles.info are therefore willing to meet such needs and they are making it possible for individuals to sell mobiles to them so that they can refurbish, recycle and even resell the used phones. The individual is even paid to send in their mobile phones. By selling some items from home, which are not being used, one can easily make some money.

If not exceeding two, most of us here in the UK have at least 1 old handset, which is not being used. And I can tell you precisely why it happens – it is because we do not know what exactly can be done with it. However now you know that any old phone can easily be turned in for some cash. Just do some research at an appropriate website and you will be able to see how much you can fetch for your old cell phone.

The Nokia Ace advertising will increase the mobile phone recycling to a great extent.

The Nokia Ace advertising will increase the mobile phone recycling to a great extent.

Microsoft is planning to spend around £63.9 million on their new advertising campaign, which will be launched along with the new Nokia Ace. Experts feel that a new spate of mobile phone recycling will be sparked. Considering that many people begin looking out for new phones which are hot commodities, it is surely not an unfounded theory. Most of the people therefore are inclined to figure out ways for turning in their old phones. Cell phone recycling is by far the easiest way to get rid of an old cell phone and also fetch some money in exchange.

Though the marketing campaign will begin earlier, Nokia Ace is expected to be in stores around end March. The campaign will aim at reminding the buyers about the entry of the new phone. The option of windows enabled phone will be promoted by Microsoft. They will sell the Nokia at AT&T in the USA, while in the UK, it will be released little later than the US.

A 5.4% share that Microsoft holds in the market is substantially lower compared to the 46.3% that the Android platform holds. This low share is one of the reasons behind this campaign being launched at an electronics show in Las Vegas. Moreover, more people are expected to show an interest in recycling their mobile phones. Undoubtedly, a great way to make some money to buy a new phone!

Getting your old mobile phones recycled can fetch you some handy cash.

Getting your old mobile phones recycled can fetch you some handy cash.
It is not a good idea to throw your TV, computer, chargers, mobile phones or batteries into the trash bin. All these items fall in the category of e-waste and must be disposed off in a particular manner. Just like it is important to recycle milk, cans, juice cartons, paper, milk cartons and tins in order to protect the environment, you must get your old electronic gadgets and mobile phones to save the environment.
All types of e-waste including computers comprises of sensitive materials that can possibly cause a lot of harm to the earth. The more e-waste is created, the fewer important things we’ll have. Are you aware that copper is known to be one of the most common e-waste that can alternatively be re-used if a mobile phone is recycled properly? In fact several countries pay significant amounts of money to re-use copper available in the e-waste. For instance, Japan is one of the largest producers of electronics and due to that it is always in need of nickel and copper.
It is because of this reason and for the protection of our environment that many companies are now paying customers who turn in their old mobile phones for recycling. All you are required to do is get in touch with the right person to educate yourself about recycling process and to learn about the amount you can earn for choosing to do so. Your old mobile phone might even be resold in the marketplace, but it will be recycled properly eventually.

We are listening about many companies putting in efforts to entice citizens to recycle their old mobile phones.

We are listening about many companies putting in efforts to entice citizens to recycle their old mobile phones.

A company in North America has recently made announcement on its new promotion about mobile phone recycling and donations. Each phone that is recycled between November 14 and November 23 will fetch a donation to the JDFR or the American Diabetes, which is essentially a charity for Juvenile Diabetes trying to create awareness on how the disease is caused and what can be done to manage it.

The American company’s move only proves that majority of companies are now becoming interested in putting efforts and ensuring that cell phones are recycled and environment is protected to a great extent. In the USA, while this charity and promotion are being run, the UK citizens too gave a great chance to give back to their own community by opting to recycle their old mobile phones. In essence, it means that each time an old phone is turned in, it will reduce chances of ending up in a dump and hence, giving an opportunity to someone who may need an old phone to use it.

Mobile phones can be of great importance to people for various reasons. Families which cannot afford the new cell phones can use the recycled and affordable ones. On the other hand, parents can contact their children in case of any need and even children can reach their parents in case of any emergency.

United Kingdom is a very big market for recycling; it is ingrained in our culture to make our planet as well as our country a better and cleaner place to live. However, despite the awareness and incentives, there are many people who remain clueless about the fate of their mobile phones once these gadgets become old and useless.

In case you are one among them; I wish to speak to you – it will take only a minute, I promise.

Mobile phone recycling is so simple that all you require for it is your mobile model, make and its IMEI number. Locating a recycler is also a very easy task with just the make and model of the phone. With these two, cashformobiles.info can generate a list of mobile phone recyclers for you and arrange them in an order with the best prices offered on top. Once you have a list with you, you can click on any of the recyclers button and go on to his website to acquaint yourself with the selling process in exchange of cash (or coupons if you may like).

As per the US Environmental Protection Agency, recycling of one million old mobile phones can save energy equivalent to that required to meet electricity needs of more than 185 US households for a period of one year. If that is the scenario for US, imagine how many households in UK could benefit from it.

So if you are planning to buy a new mobile phone or have an old handset gathering dust, now is just the right time to opt for recycling. Since you are here already, why not check right away?

Hasn’t Piers Morgan become a big thing now in the US? He is serving on USA’s X-Factor panel and is even hosting his own talk show in the US? Heather Mills has claimed that her cell phone was hacked by one of Daily Mirror’s journalists during Piers’ term as an editor there. Consequently, Piers has been asked to return home.

I am still stunned with the horrific mobile phone hacking controversy that did the rounds sometime ago. And just when I think that things are more or less settled now, something else comes to the fore. Only God knows how this chapter between Heather and Piers will come to an end.

There is some good news too despite all these controversies – not only is mobile hacking more difficult these days due to progress on the mobile security technology front, but we have also learnt a lesson from these incidents even though we are not famous or interesting.

Mobile phones are indeed pocket-sized computers and must be treated like one, such as locking the phone, using a PIN and protecting all the information using passwords. It also makes complete sense to take benefits of mobile tracking software.

Our phones today carry a lot of our personal information and will also be used as a credit card in the times to come. Not because I want to avoid any hacking scandal but I essentially want you to protect your mobile and recycle it once you are done.

I am extremely worried and end up taking a lot of stress on the varying information available regarding cell phones and the associated cancer risks.

I am extremely worried and end up taking a lot of stress on the varying information available regarding cell phones and the associated cancer risks. Though I try and avoid talking about it but facts must be known. While on one end there are many studies which confirm the link between use of mobile phones and brain cancer, there are just as many reports which state that there is no such risk involved. So to be safe, one can assume that there is nothing to be scared of, but one must be careful.

While it may seem that you are a fool talking to yourself in public by using a Bluetooth earpiece, but it makes a lot of sense to use it at office or at home. And goes without saying, hands-free is definitely the thing to go when driving. Apart from this, no need of taking unnecessary stress; feel free to use your mobile phone whenever and wherever you want to.

Another interesting new study has been published which says that teens and children, who are found using mobile phones regularly do not have any high chances of brain cancer. Why it was called interesting was, whether you believe it or not, it made use of young people having brain tumours as a part of its test group.

The study involved 352 teens and children belonging to the age group of 7-19 years already detected with brain cancer, as well as a group of 646 teens and children of similar age, sex and country for the purpose of comparison. The study revealed that the use of mobiles in no way heightened the risk, though the study trends are still being monitored.

A recent report of Mobile Magazine online indicates that Carphone Warehouse is aggressively targeting local traders and SME customers to obtain a bigger share of the B2B market.

A recent report of Mobile Magazine online indicates that Carphone Warehouse is aggressively targeting local traders and SME customers to obtain a bigger share of the B2B market. It is now offering several types of tablets, networks, tariffs and smartphones keeping the needs of this specific market in mind.
Their new B2B scheme will supplement the tariffs offered by other operators with their own business tariffs. As per CCO, Graham Stapelton, the new tariffs are meant to plug the gaps in business offerings already in the marketplace.
During interview with Mobile Magazine, Stapelton mentioned that Carphone Warehouse perceived this new step as a significant move for the company. Carphone Warehouse currently lags far behind in grabbing a fair share of market that comprises of more than 10 million active business mobile phone users. He is of the opinion that their service proposition will set them apart and they will successfully be able to create value for their customers.
Besides offering a wide range of phones, tariffs and tablets, the Carphone Warehouse is also providing what they call the ‘Network Price Promise.’ This means that when the users sign up with them, not only will they benefit from lowest prices, but will also get a 14-day coverage guarantee which will allow them to test the service and change the network in case they find the reception to be lacking. The company will also offer its subscribers an express handset replacement service and a ‘Walk out Working’ service.
Stapelton believes that the mobile phone networks are much behind them in this initiative. Carphone views it as an excellent chance to rope in small companies and sole traders which the present B2B services are incapable of handling.

The focus of everyone’s attention nowadays is the hacking scandal of The News of the World. As more information is being revealed, one is appalled at seeing the extent of unethical behaviour.

The focus of everyone’s attention nowadays is the hacking scandal of The News of the World. As more information is being revealed, one is appalled at seeing the extent of unethical behaviour. We are merely the sideline viewers, however, this is not a spectator sport and could have happened to any of us in the given circumstances.

That is why we are re-iterating the importance of protecting your mobile. It cannot be made 100% hacker-proof but the hacker will at least have a tough time getting in.

Below are some tips:

o Lock your mobile phone with the help of password protection or key lock feature. I know it is a bit of a task to unlock it each time, but the initial worries of course can be avoided if your phone gets stolen.

o It is not advisable to share one’s mobile number on documents or forms and should be left out if possible.

o Mobile’s firmware must be kept up to date, and for regular updates, you must keep auto-feature turned on so you do not have to remember it each time.

o If your phone has mobile tracking feature, become familiar with it.

o Since scammers and thieves can also get through your messages apart from your emails, do not give out any information as text to unfamiliar people or services.

Most importantly, secure not only your mobile, but also other portable gadgets such as netbook, laptop, tablet etc. And did I forget to mention that you should never save your passwords?

Are you also among those who get carried away by the new mobile phone and its features and do not pay much attention to the new service plan? Well, you must become more aware and not get distracted from analyzing the fine print of the contract. It is essential to review the same before you commit to a 2-year contract or sign on the dotted line. Here are some of the important things that one must consider:

• Does one get a grace period? How long is it? It may be a good idea if the customer is provided with some time to test the services as well as the mobile and in case any alteration or addition needs to be made, he can get it done. That is where the importance of grace period comes into picture.

• What is the length of the contract – it could range from monthly to even two-year commitments. One must know what he/ she is getting into before signing the contract.

• How many minutes are included and how does one track the use of minutes between bills?

• Are any extra fees or roaming charges attached to the plan? How is international travel treated? Hundreds of pounds can get added to the bill if one is not careful.

• Will a bundle or data plan, say of email, multimedia services and web browsing which are frequently used, turn out to be more economical?

• How much, if any, are the charges and penalties related to early cancellation?

A marketing professor at the Kansas State University, Dr. Esther Swilley, recently conducted a new survey which revealed a few interesting facts about our feelings towards mobile phones.

A marketing professor at the Kansas State University, Dr. Esther Swilley, recently conducted a new survey which revealed a few interesting facts about our feelings towards mobile phones.

As far as our attachment towards mobiles is concerned, none of us will be too surprised to see the results. Just like the attachment we have for normal things in our lives, we are attached as much to our phones as well. For example, just like we miss our family pet, we feel exactly the same when we miss our mobile.

One amazing thing is that though mobile phones are such an integral part in our lives, they still are not considered as a means of self-expression.

Students were used as a source of information while the study was being conducted at the Kansas University. Dr. Swilley observed the student body and noticed how their interaction with mobiles was while also questioning the relationship they shared with their devices. The responses were different when the student was asked whether they perceived their mobile as just a mobile or as a SmartPhone.

Another interesting observation that was revealed by Dr. Swilley was that students’ adoration levels with their mobile were more to do with entertainment than with communication. Just the way a phone can be used for movies, gaming and other means of entertainment and is a matter of joy and pride, it is similar to having a new lovable pet.

Swilley also mentioned that people are constantly hooked on to the mobiles, do not turn them off and even like to show off all its neat things.

If you have not heard of NFC already, you are missing in action from the mobile world. Most of the big names are working on schemes that will allow users of SmartPhone to pay for services and products using their mobile phones.

If you have not heard of NFC already, you are missing in action from the mobile world. Most of the big names are working on schemes that will allow users of SmartPhone to pay for services and products using their mobile phones. In the UK, an announcement has been made that the biggest four mobile service providers, namely Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile and O2, are cooperating in order to create an open platform for NFC, the abbreviation for near field communication.

What it translates for us in simple language is that in the times to come, NFC is sure to become common place and will enable us to pay for plenty of things including even train tickets and groceries. Debit cards, credit cards and even some loyalty cards can be accessed with a single click. NFC enabled accounts can be accessed by the users to pay online for goods and services.

It has also been anticipated that such a joint venture will lead to an increase of offers which are location-specific. Using the mobile phone’s location-tracking abilities, the various shops and restaurants will provide coupons apart from any savings that are applicable to that place locally.

When questioned about the new JV, Vodafone UK’s CEO, Guy Laurence commented that until now, people were taking their wallet, keys and mobile with them before leaving home, however very soon, they will start leaving behind their wallet.

Most likely, the NFC services will be launched towards 2011-end.
